No one ever talks about it, but Ratatouille game on psp was really fun, seemed superior to the home console versions in terms of fun

I loved it, got the translated Final Mix version to play it again

Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilmaniis a really good rogue like, that actually plays like rouge (the original game), but has a lot of nice gameplay additions, a crazy anime story, permanent upgrades and enough depth to stay interesting

Brave Story is a great RPG that doesn’t overstay it’s welcome and that I’ve enjoyed a lot. The enemy design was what really got me into it at the time, but the fun story and quality of life features kept me going
- Comment on What are your favourite PSP games? 1 week ago:
There is a sequel to it as well.

LocoRoco, Patapon, the God of War priquel and Crisis Core
And also Armored Core Formula Front, it’s such a weird game in the series.
Oh, and Carnage Heart EXA. I’ve never managed to actually get far, but it’s the most unique mecha game there is. You program your mecha from scratch using logic blocks, and you can make it fully autonomous, fully manual (but you have to program each button press), or a combination of two. It takes as many hours to learn as an Armored Core game would take to complete.

Cartridges, same as Switch 2. And high res textures and audio as separate download if needed. Flash memory was getting cheap until AI, 64GB usb 3 drive is still around 10 bucks at retail, so probably 3 bulk, and even cheaper for Sony.
Spinning media will never be as fast, of course, unless every drive comes with a 50GB cache to just load everything once and never seek randomly.

Up until the Wii era you could just insert the disc in the console and start playing immediately, it was much more convenient than waiting an hour for a game to download and install. You didn’t need to manage disk space as well. Or login before playing. The industry destroyed the convenience. Now only Switch has an option to start playing from cartridge.

- Comment on Steam Machine pricing announced (from $1049-$1428 USD), reservation lists open 5 weeks ago:
There is a bit of a difference since Nintendo can theoretically afford to sell Switch 2 at a slight loss and get the difference back in subscription and store fees, but with steam machine it’s not possible, since if they sell it too cheap people will start buying it as office PCs or something

Enter the matrix was fun as hell, at least the first mission with all the bullet time, kung-fu and acrobatics. It wasn’t a good game, but it was everything I needed from a Matrix spinoff

Kane and Lynch!
I liked it way more than Gears of War, which was also a 2 player coop cover shooter released around the same time.
I just really liked the banter, the characters, the setting, the way that you could see how one of the characters was crazy because when you play coop as him he sees different things.
Loved every second of it when I played it, even in single player.

I thought it was great, loved the characters, the atmosphere and all the lore, didn’t know it was considered bad until now 😅

Yeah, not buying anything from a company that can’t even do as little as saying “Nazis bad” after sending out SS symbols.
All they did was a non-apology and attempts at gasligting by saying it’s their heritage.

I would play it just for the addition of gamepad controls, that’s the biggest hurdle for me with these classic dos/early windows games
- Comment on What’s your favorite video game that most people didn’t like ?? 1 month ago:
Timeshift: it has 71 on metacritic, so not that universally disliked, but I actually thought it was really great. An fps where you can stop or slow down time, with pretty simple time related puzzles and a lot of slow-motion gore.
It also had an interesting multiplayer mode where you could throw grenades that slow down time in a sphere around them, but unfortunately I never managed to find a match online

Just need to find the time somewhere 😅

Unpopular opinion, but Xbox 360. The first ones didn’t have hdmi, didn’t have a hard drive, the giant power brick was unsightly, the controller has the worst dpad I have ever touched and playing any fighting game on it was a pain, the paid multilayer cancer grew there, the ads in the main menu of the console… And I didn’t get to see the red ring of death since I’ve switched to PS3 as soon as I could afford one.
I know a lot of people have fond memories of it, but for me the 360 represented the worst of the console manufacturers’ greed, milking the consumer to the bone while cheaping out on everything that was possible to cheap out on.

I think Microsoft is right there at the top, with all studios that they’ve acquired.
Curious how EA is sitting on all of the Bullfrog properties and MS on the Lionhead ones
- Comment on METRO 2039 - Announcement April 16 3 months ago:
I was almost the opposite, after reading the books I don’t want to return to that world, the first one made it feel dark and bad, but intriguing and full of unknown, second one made it a bit darker, and the third one just made it so dark and depressing, like the Darkest Dungeon, where each step sips your sanity.
It just became massively unappealing, a world of Soviet-style state oppression in a can, without a hope, with no heroes, and where the only way forward is out.

I don’t know, I saw people saying that pro has this addressed (for example this video youtu.be/ojLoP9ddseg) and that some slims have this adjustment as well, but you need to check when it was made I guess pcmag.com/…/sony-updates-ps5-ps5-slim-to-address-…

Hope you don’t keep it vertical, there were videos on YouTube saying that liquid metal in the original models pools at the bottom with time

Oh, I was actually talking about the original Race Driver: Grid, it’s super fun. Got confused by their naming scheme though, I’ve never even played the 2019 one

Grid is great! And it had Japanese stages too
- Comment on What was the first game you ever bought ? 3 months ago:
I think it was either Beyond Good and Evil or Guilty Gear Iruca for PC. And then there were psychonauts and Megaman X8, I think all of the were worth it. Guilty Gear Iruca might have been the weakest in the series for me but I had a lot of fun with it too, and it got me to try X2 later.
And the Megaman game was actually my favourite in the series, I liked having lower difficulty with Axel and replayed it a few times, I was surprised to discover that the difficulty changed the ending on my second playthrough. That was such a great time in gaming.
