For anyone curious, the original image is called “The Popes and the Last Steam Passenger Train” and was taken by O. Winston Link in 1957. It features a N&W class J pulling the last steam-powered passenger train in Max Meadows, VA in the background

I think that’s supposed to be an internet “troll”. I would imagine based on what’s being criticized in this imagine, the creator probably isn’t part of the group that would use the goblin reference you’re referring to
