- Comment on Red Dead Redemption 2 overtakes Mario Kart 8 as the 4th best-selling video game of all time, boasting 79 million sales 5 days ago:
You make some very good points. I loved RDR2, but felt like two-thirds of the way through the game it became main story and nothing else. I thought the side quest content was really good, but there needed to be a lot more of it. The “random” events were awesome, but when they were eventually all completed, it made the world feel somewhat empty in comparison. That said, it’s still one of my favorite games. I’m on a playthrough right now where I mostly just mess around in the world. I like how slow-paced it is. You can just do whatever. Eat, drink, fish, sleep, fight, hunt, cook, ride, shoot… There’s no end to the number of personal side quests you can make up.

Everyone knows that there are 88 bank holidays a year, starting with Chreaster on Octember 41st.

Today a friend told me about how, last night, a Google AI summary led to a huge fight between him and his partner. Turns out the AI summary was 100% wrong. I mean yeah, don’t make important decisions based on an AI summary. But a lot of non-tech folks still have no idea how inaccurate those results can be, and even more just plain don’t care.
- Comment on "You can't just have Geralt for every single game" says his voice actor, and if you think The Witcher 4 making Ciri the protagonist is "woke," then "read the damn books" 5 months ago:
Came here to say this. Anyone that’s played Witcher 3 should have already known that Ciri was going to be the protagonist in the next game. I can’t wait. Ciri is badass.

I can personally vouch, having seen this when private equity bought out the company I worked at and significantly cut everyone’s wages while telling us we needed to massively increase productivity. Unchecked greed at its finest.

Not being evil is for the poor and powerless. Rich people are just better than the rest of us and deserve to be able to shit wherever they want.
I joke, but seriously, no one gets as rich as the leaders of all these big companies without hurting a lot of innocent people in the process. Never forget, there are no virtuous billionaires.
- Comment on Longtime buddy of mine just got a gaming PC. What games would make up a good "welcome to PC" care package? 10 months ago:
One of the first things I add to any PC. I just bought a copy for someone a few days ago.

And the once or twice a year Epic offers a free game I actually want to play, I enjoy it just as much as if I’d bought it elsewhere.
- Comment on What games have you sunk the most time into? 10 months ago:
Stardew Valley: 421 Soace Rangers HD: 375 Cities Skylines: 363
Felt like more at the time, for all three. Guess I didn’t used to game as much as I do now. I’ve owned X4 for two weeks and I’m at 107 hours, so it’s on pace to smash those numbers.

I enjoyed “It Takes Two” quite a bit. “A Way Out” is another co-op game from the same publisher that I’ve only heard good things about.
- Comment on What game surprised you with their length? 10 months ago:
It was a really fun game. It took months to finish it, in small chunks, trying to fit in time here and there with my kid. I’m glad we finished though.

Exactly. Instead of complaining about polictics in gaming, just spend your money elsewhere if you don’t like it.

Games are not a fundamental right. Artists should make art that reflects their values.
