Heard this for 30+ years and watched the Dems just go further right. Don’t think it works bud.
- Comment on Goodwill is out of control 2 months ago:
Idk if that’s out of control or not anymore, what’s a dollar worth? But I’ve avoided goodwill for Habitat for a while because there were various stories over the years about shady things. Now, they’re big and basically all franchises so some of this was always gonna happen; lawsuits w/ racist/sexist/otherwise discriminatory managers will eventually happen once a company gets large enough, and franchises have a lot of independent control which leads to a lot of variance, good and bad, at different locations.
But they’re also pretty shit at the corporate level: cracked.com/article_33357_15-impressively-evil-th…
So overall, on the astronomically low bar of regular evil corporate behavior, they’re middling, but you should probably donate/shop elsewhere if you want to do the most good.

Can confirm Fall Guy was very solid, didn’t think it was gonna be anything memorable but we ended up really liking it.

Dewalt is still that well regarded? My dad fucking hates them lol we used to have a good amount of their stuff and then tool after tool broke on him and he won’t buy them unless he doesn’t have a better option (he and my brother are HVAC/plumbers). He likes Milwaukee but thinks they’re overpriced, and has a decent amount of Ryobi stuff now, along with Bosch. My grandpa was the Makita man.

$50 says he doesn’t respond to this comment where he gets absolutely fuckin owned. Was gonna also mention The Flash, Green Lantern, Aqua Man, Dr. Fate, etc etc etc. It’s reiterated so many times in comics that many of these hero names are mantles to be worn for a time and passed on.

The city is it’s own beast, but omfg do I hate the South larpers in upstate and elsewhere! They are so annoying, flying confederate flags and shit when half of em have never even been 50 miles from their home town. You’ll even see some of that shit on Long Island. City people are much more open minded in general at least, it’s just the rent and cost of living that you have to survive. The food, including Southern food when you find it, is also world class in NYC - bad restaurants can’t survive.
Nisky is a cool area, I have some friends there, tho East Nisky has some of that Southern larping as well, it’s nowhere near as bad as it gets in the Southern Tier of NY from my experience as well - the people sharing the border with PA.

Likewise, but I see why my comment would make you think I was only referring to the city.
- Comment on Don't forget to tip your gas station 1 year ago:
I’ve been around all of NY, and even right next to Jersey it’s still not common. Maybe within Manhattan or Staten Island as those are the only 2 boroughs where I’ve never gotten gas, but even places right on the border of NJ mostly don’t have it. Agreed tho, hate anywhere that does it and I’ll just leave immediately.

I’ve almost never seen this in NY. It’s a jersey thing, and it’s stupid as fuck.
