  Changing your user? no. I'm not even sure if the instance hosts can do that for you.

  But you can change your display name on the settings tab. I do it often.

    Don't bleieve it is possible, due to how federation works. However, I'm unsure if it would be impossible to implement federated name changes. Something for @nutomic@lemmy.ml or @dessalines@lemmy.ml to answer.

      It might be possible, but someone first needs to work on it. For me its far down the list of priorities, considering that you can just make a new account, and put a link to the old account in the bio.

  There's a "display name" field on the account settings (for the Lemmy app called Lemur).

  If you cant part with a rich and vibrant history on your account but are desperate about changing username I'd suggest contacting an admin for manual change if you would be willing to make a nice donation to the instance
