  Hubris is something ancient tales warn against. Basically, it's arrogance in the face of the gods. I can't help but think that tech companies and media companies both are experiencing hubris right now, too many people working there think that their power comes from the website, when it actually comes from the audience. They've made the mistake of thinking that they are the ones in control, when their role is simply providing something that customers want.

  Those who engage in hubris in the ancient tales are tragic figures. No matter how powerful they once were, eventually they are brought low.

  I'm glad to see the fighting spirit of the original Internet can't be silenced.
