I got banned instance-wide pretty quickly from lemmy.ml for saying stuff that was nothing remotely like a bannable thing (pointing out that there's a lot more women working in organizations trying to get other women to code than there are women coding, and if those women would just do the thing instead of trying to get someone else to do the thing they don't want to do there'd be an immediate influx of women coding and the absurdity of that).
They're a poster child for the dark side of the Internet, an iron curtain in which all dissent is silenced. I'm glad lemmy federates with lotide, but I recognize that I probably won't be able to federate with most instances until more moderate ones start to pop up.

LOL. I wish their reasons for their bans were better known, it's known that they're censorship fans but it's not clear all the time the reasonings for doing so.
I hope there's a good enough off-ramp from lemmy.ml to narwhal.city any/or wolfballs.com so their booted users aren't left in the cold, and the Lemmy community can continue to grow.

Communities like that do us a favor by being authoritarian immediately and decisively. Helps people realize they need to find somewhere libre.
