    What video? They have a video of an interview with the victim if I read the article correctly. And not from 27 years ago.

    As for why just now:

    She told police she had had nightmares about being pregnant and said she kept quiet about the incident for years as she watched Brand becoming “more and more famous”.

    The woman said a 2023 Dispatches documentary about allegations of sexual misconduct by Brand “triggered” her to go to police.

    She probably felt like she could never win in court and I can’t say I blame her. It’s pretty hard to prove rape without a rape kit or video or something.

    Much as the man has always seemed like an egocentric piece of shit, these things still need proving.
