  The interesting thing abut that is the date 1874. They re-joined the Union in 1868, and would have had to a new constitution to do so. 1874 would have been a new constitution. Ratified after the failure of reconstruction and designed to disenfranchise the formally enslaved.

  All the slave-holding states are like this.
