I hate idling cars with a burning passion because the noise is bloody annoying. My neighbour had the worst irritating habit of spending at least an hour chatting in her car with the engine running from 11pm to well over midnight. Right under my bedroom window. Drove me absolutely mad (pun kind of intended).

I walk past idling cars every time I leave my house, mainly people parked up and sat on their phones. I’ve considered making stickers to slap on their bumpers but instead just get annoyed. A law only exists if it’s enforced

I agree. Police are not around to enforce, maybe they’ll get traffic wardens to do it, but I can imagine this will end up with more conflict if the driver is in the car. At least having this as news encourages people to talk about it and hopefully be a good self-reminder.
