  Probably a combination of technological burnout from the general populace, and a shrinking middle class.

  Off topic, but, you know, it might be cool to make a VR Game which is just an old fashioned Arcade. Wouldn’t be profitable due to cooyrights issues, but cool.

    There’s a VR game out there I’ve heard of and keep wanting to try that is essentially this. It puts you in a bedroom in the 90’s complete with athletics and you load your ROMs as cartridges into virtual consoles to play them on a CRT in VR.

    This is free for exactly the reason you’re talking about.
