UK to give military support to Saudi Arabia in fight against Houthis

The UK will provide ~~defensive~~ military support to Saudi Arabia against ~~attacks from Yemen’s Iran-backed~~ Houthi ~~rebels~~, the prime minister has confirmed.

Speaking to reporters while travelling to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Andy Burnham said Saudi Arabia has requested support, “and on the advice of the defence secretary and the foreign secretary, last night I agreed to that request”.

The UK will only provide support for air-to-air refuelling for Saudi planes on defensive missions, rather than for a wider range of military actions.

One RAF voyager will be used for the refuelling.

  UK gotta make themselves complicit, then face a Houthi blockade on the Red Sea shipping and then yell victim and start bombing Yemen. Maybe they can pull in more European countries who konws.
