In all fairness, accurately reporting the current trajectory of climate change doesn’t make for very engaging media because it would just be the news anchor alternating between panicked screaming and hyperventilation for the whole segment.

However, I suspect that while the media will cover climate issues for clicks (which they have to do to survive), they’ll ultimately continue furthering their own interests as a class by publishing content that delays action.
Most media is owned and staffed by people who will have to give things up if we’re actually going to tackle climate change.
So fuck 'em, unfortunately. Like this summer shows; we don’t have time to wait for them to get on board, and we can’t count on them to help.
