    Yeah, i think we’re in for it. And we’re not really as prepared as we could be, especially when it comes to remediation practices of the natural environment. Theyre next to non-existent on the scale that we should be planning for.

    I live near the Northern Jarrah forests of Perth and its a tinder box in summer, so we have a good bush fire brigade, but we barely have anyone going in to build the resilience of the bush. Most active resilience tactics we’ve got are still back-burning and clearing.

    They’ll probably alwayd have a place, but they’re relied on so much now that it actually decreases the resilience of that bush. Of course, this is because the back-burning and clearing is about saving properties and lives, rather than understanding what the bush needs to stay healthy and not fire prone during hard years.
