  Firstly, the left images (both top and bottom) are Shoebill, not pelicans.

  Secondly, this is completely false. They are yawning and the neck is simply pushing upthrough the skin ouch on the underside of their beak. Proof

  The bird on the left hand side is actually a shoebill, a fellow Pelecaniforme.

    I love these guize! I’d read somewhere they stand still for hours so went to the zoo to see but it was walking around and shaking its wings and stuff. Fond memory.
