If one of your sons got disrespectful, would you tell him that you don’t really need him, and that if he wants to leave the family, he can because he’s not vital to the family?
If your dad has said this to you, you have full justification to punch him in the balls.
That’s a terrible thing to say to your son. Thats like treating your family like a business.
If you son is being rude put him in his place. The son that truly contributes nothing and doesn’t really need to be there shouldn’t get to be rude and think nothing will happen. Put the little punk bitch in his place.
One does not have kids because they need them, but because they love them. Kids are mostly useless untill they move out.

Only someone really disturbed/immature/confused would do something like that. If it happened to you, I’m sorry, I empathise. Not having a decent father is almost a meme at this point with how common it is in some circles, but this goes way further.
Of course, though I’d be disappointed because that should be a given.
