They’re only inadequate if judged by the standards of representative democracy. If Reform UK LLC is treated as a kleptofascist hostile-acquisition and asset-stripping vehicle, they’re more than fit for the job. (See also: some of the goons in the Russian Duma.)

Still, there are sufficient amounts of people, sufficiently uninformed or evil to vote these men into office. Traveling through the UK, occasionally chatting with people, it’s astonishing how quickly the conversation can turn to immigrants, as if it’s the only challenge in the world.
