The government doesn’t want you to know this but if you take raw milk and heat it gently for a brief period of time, it becomes safe to drink.

Correct. Unless it sits for too long and bacteria have time to release toxins. The heat of pasteurization is not high enough to degrade those. At least that’s how it works in other foods/liquids.
