How did that work? There must be a couple dozen different countries on Lemmy. Does it rotated between the countries?
Is there a way we can go back to the community spotlight where lets say weekly we find one and want to promote it? Sorry to bother.....no sarcasm in that.

Lemmy has a feature for taglines where you’ll see a random one on every refresh. We used to have a selection of a few communities in there, but at this time we don’t have anyone available who has spare time to maintain this. We’re open to suggestions or even someone joining e.g. our matrix and we’ll be happy to set up a group chat for collecting communities and adding/rotating them in our list.
This is instance specific, so each instance has to maintain this on their end.
At the moment we have only !newcommunities@lemmy.world and !communitypromo@lemmy.ca in the list.

I was under the understanding that an admin would put out a blanket message and you could vote for your favorite ones. But it can’t be the same community every month. I found some pretty niche communities that way and plus it give the little communities a place to shine for a couple days.

I’d like to take this opportunity to recommend viewing Lemmy with All rather than Subscribed, it’s obviously the superior way to enjoy the site. Also I probably have the most blocked sublemmys of any user because I am a very fussy person who dislikes a lot of things for petty reasons.

Just checked, 1909 communities blocked from my side. /All page doing wonders for finding what to follow and what to block. "<.<

Whoah… I checked (had to hand count them on my phone) and I only have 142 blocked. Assumed it was much higher! I guess this speaks highly to the tolerability of much of the Lemmy community. Of course I have 25 whole instances blocked so that likely helps too.
I appreciate your shared commitment to c/All, Lemmy is meant to be enjoyed as a whole imho.
