  Lower oil prices in the US mean more damage to the biosphere, the world, and ultimately the US and even Venezuela. This view is as myopic as the one it seeks to criticize.

    In my opinion:

    The oligarchy in the world and the US esp. will not let that happen, if we keep voting for the status quo.

    This will just screw the working class since we are all reliant on them for transportation.

    The same in other countries, only the people with money are okay with this, they will keep burning coal and gas.

    Massive investments in public transportation and nuclear power would be required.

      I think a lot of their power is that people don’t think change is possible, or are too distracted with day to day concerns. But I think it can happen if people demand it forcefully enough.
