Wireless charging is the dumbest invention ever created

Who even fucking thought about making a standard function in all phones? Did they go like: Mmmmm, phones have a very strong back that is hard to break, what we are gonna do about that? … Let’s have a functionality that requires that phones have a glass back that is made of the weakest type of glass, ever created. Then they did an evil laugh?!

For starters, it’s not wireless you still have a wire to bring the electricity in and you still have to leave your phone on the charger.

Furthermore, that is literally a leash for your phone that prevent you from moving it.

The invention date of the wireless chargers should be celebrated as the dumbest invention day, annually.

I can understand the frustration on most of your points except on this one:

My Galaxy S24 has a metal back and wilelessly charges without issue.

When wireless charging was announced, every layperson out there started imagining their homes filled with powerful waves of harmless energy that would keep their devices charged and eliminate the need for all wires. People thought we could have LED bulbs that pull volts out of the air and provide light for your dining room.

Wireless charging is slightly more convenient than plugging your phone in to a usb c. But it’s also slower. I have a wireless charger next to a wired charger, and 90% of the time I plug in because it’s faster, and I can still use my phone while it charges.

  I like wireless charging simply because of the stress that charging ports undergo tends to cause them to fail. That alone was enough for me to primarily stick with wireless.
  
  But I also don't use my phone a lot at home. Generally if my phone is charging, I have access to my desktop PC and prefer to use that for watching videos or browsing news.

I just wish my magnetic phone mount in my truck would wireless charge. That’s the perfect use case, IMO.

What a dumbass post. Wireless charging is great. For example, your phone can charge your earbuds (before you complain about wireless earbuds, recognise that they’re actually convenient for certain tasks)
