Fuck my balls.
At this point I’m convinced he’s deliberately doing everything he can to make himself unpopular.
Someone told me that he is there for the sole purpose of destroying the labour party. Which is ridiculous… isnt it?
So UK’s biggest IT project ever …any chance that it will be delivered on time, within budget and working as intended?
Will the vendor be Fujitsu?
Ah! Nice one… But no, it will be Oracle. They have paid Tony Blair about £250 in the last few to spew their nonsense, and Larry Ellison has spoken loudly about well behaved everyone will be once they can monitor everything we do.
Sounds like a police state paradise.
Fujitsu, you mean like in.. OH NO OH NoooooO!
I’ve heard rumours they are even going to call it the “Brit Card”.
Say no to Starmer Cards and the surveillance state.
already in 2nd place on that site the govt ignores petition.parliament.uk/petitions?state=open
first now btw
I’ve heard this rumour for the past 20 years.
Labour tried to introduce it about 20 years ago but it got killed.
Yeah but it took voting in a Tory government to do it. A high price indeed.
Now Reform will start piping up about how they will block this and they’ll get even more votes. Between this and the age verification stuff I’m almost considering voting for them but I can’t stand the idea of Nigel Farage being PM and they keep trying to emulate Trump.
Reform have been pushing hard for electoral ID and migrant worker verification. So im sure this will be a u turn for one of them. But it will be interesting to see witch.
I’ve just been reading the BBC article on it and it says that every other party is against them being compulsory. I don’t think this’ll make it through.
This will make fuck all difference. Employers already do background checks, I’ve always had to give some kind of ID whenever I’ve started a new job, and there will always been employers that don’t do any checks.
In theory, this should be one of those things that should make accessing services easier, but we all know this will be a foot in the door to more authoritarian bullshit and be yet another opportunity to show government incompetence.
It’s honestly impressive how many bad decisions one government can make.
Bullshit

It’s one of those things, that if done well, in a privacy respecting way, would be awesome!
… But they don’t want it to be privacy respecting…
