Because owning music and paying once, is way better than paying every month and listening to the same popular tracks again and again.

Yes I know, Spotify has tons of tracks available, still I like to go through my CDs and play it right away, no internet needed, no ads, no algorithms.

I like Bandcamp, as I get to listen to whole tracks (a few times each), get to download and own them at $1 to $2 each.

I don’t spend much more than a Spotify subscription and now own so many wonderful tracks I can listen to anytime.

And most of what I spend goes directly to the artist.

        …own them at $1 to $2 each.

Do you actually recieve DRM free files or are they still tied to Bandcamp? I understand we still don’t own the song with physical media but a policy change or new license deal at Colombia isn’t going to make the disc disappear.

+1, I use bandcamp too! Works very well and you can download or even buy a media of your preference.

i get it, but it takes up so much room. I had thousands of CDs. Maybe over 9,000. But I live in a townhouse and there just isn’t room to keep all that shit, especially if you want to do the same thing for other media like blu rays, games, vinyl or whatever else.

Personally, i find other ways to enjoy music and movies in a physical/visual form like prints, posters, and apparel.
