You are a river to your people

I dunno if you’re specifically referencing Lawrence of Arabia, but if so, I really like that movie.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvH6PT7I_dI
LAWRENCE: It is the servant who takes money.
AUDA leaps to his feet and backs away from this moral threat as another man might from a physical one.
AUDA: I am Auda Ibu Tayi! (He goes to the edge of the tent and bawls into the darkness) Does Auda serve? Does Auda Ibu Tayi serve? (He faces his persecutors and goes into a furious litany) I carry twenty-three great wounds all got in battle! Seventy-five men I have killed with my own hands, in battle! I scatter, I burn my enemies’ tents! I take away their flocks and herds. The Turks pay me a golden treasure. Yet I am poor! … Because I am a river to my people! Is that service?

I was. I first learnt of the movie when Matthew Colville mentioned it.

So how exactly do we buy them if the payment process doesn’t allow this. Also the one game I pic said I get Sream key. So is the games still available on said platforms just not searchable, or can we still download stand alone.

They don’t even see the games behind the transactions they’re processing, so you can just buy as usual. Steam and Itch reacted differently to the complains they got: Steam deleted only content corresponding to particular tags (incest, noncon, etc), while Itch simply hidden all NSFW games from their catalogue. It is speculated the reason behind this is that Steam has very thorough curation and moderation and thus they know exactly what they have on their platform and they can take down exactly the games corresponding to complains while Itch largely relies on self-tagging by developers which is quite arbitrary and doesn’t necessary contain certain tags even if those things are present in game. So Itch would need to perform full review of all NSFW games by moderators to filter out those that are disliked by payment processors. Anyway, few days ago Trump signed executive order to prohibit unlawful debanking, so it is very likely that all delisted/banned games on both Itch and Steam will get back to normal within 180 days.

Hmm.
I have to say that as pornographic video game tags go, the tag library that itch.io provides is kind of limited. The goony.dev people apparently scraped the tags from itch.io’s database of tags, which makes sense if their aim is to keep pornographic itch.io games visible. But…if goony.dev aims to be a database of specifically pornographic video games, there’s not a lot by way of relevant tag data to make the games searchable.
Contrast with, say, vndb.org’s tag library; that’s not specifically for pornographic games, but tracks and indexes quite a few.

This whole saga has been fascinating in that it has revealed an entire side of gaming I really didn’t know existed. I’m not looking very deeply into it, but just seeing how much exists and how many categories and classifications go into it is surprising, although I guess I really shouldn’t be surprised given how long I’ve been online.
