Today’s game is Halo 3 ODST. Me and my friends I played the last few games with have been playing this nightly. I even committed to the bit and bought a bag of dorritos to eat while playing. ODST is good fun, especially with 4 players. I managed to get this screenshot of two of my friends Rookies right up against each other about to kiss (or that’s our head cannon at least).

ODST is fun, and familiar due to using the same engine as Halo 3, but a few issues I have with it is that all the characters blend together due to all wearing armor and not really being scene (this game is dark as fuck which does not help). There’s also only a few standout levels, though a Mombasa Streets secures that slot purely by being there like 8 times.

The game can also make you feel like a bit of a glass cannon at times. One point I really felt that was when I was storming this bridge to hold the enemies off while my friend’s detonated the bridge. The lack of proper healing and a mediocre weapon really made me feel like I was being shredded to pieces. It really does not have the same haptic feel as the First 3 Halo games (and Reach).

I managed to get this fun photo of our 4 ODST troops together before we got our asses kicked (partially by ourselves betraying each other). Halo is awesome to get these 4 person screenshots together, really makes you feel like a squad (even if that squad absolutely sucks at their job).

One last thing that I wanted to proudly share is that I 100% the Last of Us today. My poor Steam Deck could barely hold it together and I had to run a few levels multiple times, but I’ve done it. It was a fun and mostly easy 100%. I appreciate it not having one tied to difficulty.
