Checks the list of removed games
And nothing of value was lost.

On the other hand, this is Valve capitulating to PayPal and removing games from sale because they didn’t like them. Not a good precedent to set.

PayPal is a US company. Everyone should expect them to eventually put bans political content that doesnt align with the Trump admins policies. When that time comes, Valve and Steam is either going to become a worthless racist, queerphobic, science denying, shithole or it will hold the line. Lets hope its going to be the latter.

I agree. Not a good precedent. But in this case, I think there’s a silver lining in that valve is removing shovelware while retaining the capacity of selling adult games.
Although Valve should be the one setting the rules here. And the rule should be that games portraying borderline (or even outright illegal) situations, such as incest, should be banned from the store.

I consider free speech quite valuable. Sure the games might be shit but what’s next?

Side note: I wish they’d just call them porn games, not “adult games”. I expect adult games to be games for adults, as in, the games that are age-restricted to 18+.
Or are they going to start removing stuff that’s PEGI 18 / ESRB M, like Baldur’s Gate 3? No? Exactly.

That’s just the reality of ‘adult’ as the most common euphemism, as in ‘adult films’. It’s not going anywhere.

I know, I just think it’s annoying. I even turned on some option to see “adult games” in Steam for a little while because I thought it meant it would shut off the age verification for games like BG3. Instead it started showing me porn games (with no age verification), while still requiring an age check for actual adult games.
Americans.

ESRB M is not adult. It’s for minors. It’s SEVENTEEN+ as in YOUR A CHILD SEVENTEEN >> AND << ABOVE.
ESRBs ONLY adult rating is AO. ADULT ONLY. That’s why M IS MATURE. NOT ADULT.

I looked it up and you are correct about the ratings but I would imagine the downvotes are because of your second sentence - ESRB M doesn’t exactly mean the game is for minors in the same way that AO is only for adults

Glossed over after someone was shouting about my “A Child.” I think it’s an honor roll student thing but I wandered off.
