How about focus on making good content instead. People subscribe to streaming to avoid the talking heads. Never found that dude entertaining too.

I like Pat McAfee and his show is really fun, but I don't see how this makes sense for Netflix. I don't think copying him directly, especially with his style, will work in general, and I think Pat McAfee on ESPN works so well because it's a perfect marriage of longform talk and new media.
Putting Joe Rogan on Spotify is different than putting a sports podcast on Netflix because people don't really go to Netflix for talk shows, and when they do, they go there for polished replacements of broadcast shows and cable events.
