  This headline is such bullshit. The Earth has had millions of years hotter then now. It’s just that we’re hitting the top of our records.

  Not to downplay that, but the Earth is fine. Life will go on and this planet will host it in some way until the sun consumes it, before going supernova.

  But who knows about humanity. Mammals will probably survive.

    Hottest since thermometers became widespread. Almost certainly hottest in last 125000 years. It’s enough of a sudden change to be a big deal for an awful lot of living things. Including us.
