Wesfarmers plans to shutter online marketplace Catch [formerly Catch of the Day], putting around 190 jobs on the line after recording significant operating losses.
Catch lost its identity when it became an Amazon competitor. At least selling one thing a day at a massive discount was an interesting gimmick. It just didn’t stand out enough as a regular online store
Wow! I hadn’t seen that one coming. Still, I guess it makes sense. I’ve only ordered a couple of things from there, but it seems to be mostly random “marketplace” sellers on there, which makes it basically just low quality, Australian, Amazon
it was great for getting ethique and also bulk portellos. cries

I used to buy some of their lame crap back when it was 1 unique item a day. It was kind of fun, even if most of the stuff I ended up with was total junk.
But just being eBay, or Amazon, or Kogan, but worse? What’s the point.
