It could be on matrix, a federated communications protocol. It works like every other proprietary comms platform and supports very strong encryption

And susceptible to the exact DDOS attacks they are under now. Even moving to a web service with DDOS protection has done so much.
Too many people are taking offense to what they’ve done.
