Original title (FR): Le Salaire de la peur
In a squalid South American oil town, four desperate men sign on for a suicide mission to drive trucks loaded with nitroglycerin over a treacherous mountain route. As they ferry their explosive cargo to a faraway oil fire, each bump and jolt tests their courage, their friendship, and their nerves. The result is one of the greatest thrillers ever committed to celluloid, a white-knuckle ride from France’s legendary master of suspense, Henri-Georges Clouzot. New 4K restoration opening exclusively in theaters 11/27!
Inspiration for the criminally underrated 1977 US version, Sorcerer, which had the terrible misfortune of opening the exact same weekend as this one weird low-budget sci-fi cowboy movie.

Was a good movie. Had lots of machismo. Also sweaty Mexican dudes in ribbed tank tops*
*They’re called wife beaters, or were in the 90’s in bumfuk America when I learned about them anyway. Not sure if that’s pc anymore. Life partner beaters?

You got it right the first time: ribbed tanks; still bringing the machismo and big trans-masc energy. :)
