As soon as the trolley’s forward wheels pass the switch lever you throw the switch so that the rear wheels go on the other track. Since the wheel trucks can’t swivel 90 degrees, the trolley derails gracefully, saving all lives.
Choosing the tracks with more people on it is not nearly as evil as simply killing everyone on either set of tracks yourself, before the train gets there.
Or it rides along both rails, taking out everybody perfectly. Sick grind dude, such a THPS visual.
This reminds me of my mate in primary school answering the fox, chicken, and grain river puzzle by saying “they should all cross on jet skis.”
