So, I downloaded some carts and want to play them, however I need to convert the PNG files to a .p8 file.
How do I do this?
Pretty sure you drag it to pico 8 to open it. The game is in the image. Then once it is loaded you can save how you’d like.

Pico8 carts are just a special flavor of png. I would try running it directly or if it won’t run them with the png extension just rename the file from .png -> .p8 without converting and see if that works

Although if you are having trouble you might have more luck getting started with the built in SPLORE command

I’ll try renaming. Thing is I play carts outside of pico8 and don’t have a copy. A machine I got has a pico emu so I got some carts. It just cannot read the raw ong and instead sees it as boxart.

Fake-08 is explicitly supports p8.PNG files: github.com/jtothebell/fake-08
However, not all games are compatible with fake-08.
