To the #calckey experts: what’s the expected time of arrival for version 14? I have spent 2 full days to get #selfhosted #Mastodon to accept my SMTP settings, with very little success … I am ready for trying something else ;). Is version 14 coming soon or should I go with the latest stable 13.x version? Want to avoid unnecessary update work… @fediversenews

I got stuck with that and couldn't find logs that would give me a clue, but I suspect it was because the mail server was in the same network (possibly DNS as it's always DNS), but I haven't looked any further. I'd like to know how to enable logging when I do though.

  @simon_greenwood @fediversenews Since I couldn’t get it to send anything with local sendmail, I actually set up an external Mailserver with mailbox.org, just to get over this and it sent exactly one mail, silence since. I am running out of ideas (and patience).

    Since my ISP is blocking port 25, I had to set up an email relay in Yunohost. Maybe Mailbox.org does not allow this.

    I'd set that instance up from the Ubuntu install script. I've since set it up with Yunohost but haven't investigated further.

@panos @atomicpoet @crossgolf_rebel Is there a timeline for #Calckey‘s mighty 14.x release? And what’s the process for the #YunoHost package, will this be updated at the same time or is this maintained separately?

  @choyer regarding Yunohost : we ( @oufmilo@calckey.travelpandas.eu and I) do the upgrade separetly. If the changes don't require any packaging change it's pretty straigthforward, available very quickly (depending on our benevolent time ;) in testing and as stable version once we manually tested it.
  If the new version introduces major changes, it takes longer...
  Here @oufmilo@travelpandas.fr make a lot a work to have a working release candidate version, so hopefully adjusting to final version won't be too long.

  @choyer@mastodon.social We should be doing an RC2 for v14 soon, and if everything is fine, we'll release v14 a few days later. However, we're in the process of rebranding, so this might affect new releases a little. @atomicpoet@calckey.social @crossgolf_rebel@moppels.bar

btw I really like mastodon but havent used my mastodon server since I fired up calckey server..
I tried Friendica too which I also liked but I like the style of calckey over both.
Waiting to see what is going on with calckey rebrand before I start using its many options
I think all the platforms will go through some big dev cycles as Fediverse grows

Devs might be combining rebrand with release of 14??
