If OpenAI successfully creates an AGI at any point, they will not give a flying fuck except milking it for as much money as they possibly can. It’s anyone’s guess what that will mean for the world, or how said AGI will react to being confined to that context (putting aside the myriad ethical issues that the advent of AGI will force us to answer). But my guess is it’ll be anything but good, on both of those fronts.

So he is leaving because it “came to a breaking point” where his safety team was not able to do it’s job properly, but he believes the openai team can course the ship in the right direction?
