Why, just… Why?
It’s a cult classic (that frankly sucks in my opinion, but I wasn’t of age when it came out, so…).
I despise this remake marathon. If a movie wasn’t done well the first time I can understand. But Barbarella is a thing if it’s time, it will be a completely different story if done today, and will only share the name.
Like Stepford Wives. Doing that remake was pointless.

It’s not a remake:
Wright can, you’d hope, pick and chose his projects and he wouldn’t want to waste his time on a remake.
Barbarella was originally a long-running French comic that has been brought back in American comic books a few times. There is a plenty of material to draw on or space for Wright to go off in his own direction.
