- Comment on Control Resonant - Announcement Trailer | PS5 Games 1 week ago:
I don’t think I entirely understood what the hell was going on in Control but I really enjoyed playing it. The way they integrated Alan Wake into the story was brilliant.
Hopefully, this will be just as much fun to play and maybe even understand… 🤣
- Comment on Friday the 13th Part 2 is getting a 4K UHD release for its 45th anniversary 1 week ago:
I think there are several terms floating around getting mixed up by marketing people. There’s only one kind of 4K Blu-ray. If that’s what you meant?

As I imported mine to the UK, I was worried if they would even honour the replacement discs. Thankfully they did.
- Comment on Something is very wrong with the HBO Max 4K version of Mad Men 2 weeks ago:
When they released Back to the Future for the first time on DVD, they got the framing wrong on parts 2 & 3 but only for certain shots.
The most memorable was when Marty had the future jacket on. It beeps with a flashing button at the base of the coat which he presses.
For whatever reason, the shot was framed too high and you can’t see the button or him pressing it. Ruins the whole point of the scene.

As a Tron fan, I really enjoyed this. I can’t wait to blast the 4K disc on my poor home theatre system at home. 😂

I had no idea about this, thank you.

That reminds me of that old first person shooter, The Operative: No One Lives Forever.
This is a game that had a following and people have asked for a remaster or even just a GOG release.
The problem is, no one actually knows who owns it today. It’s a bit of a legal mess.

I think the only item that interested me was that I can play Alan Wake 2 next month for “free”.

If you have access to the original camera negative, it’s going to look great in 4K. Look at the Wizard of Oz, that’s 1939.

- Comment on Dredd (2012) 4K UHD for €10 on Amazon.ie currently 3 months ago:
As a UK resident, I can’t order it, it’s showing as unavailable. It’s on the UK site but it costs £25.
It might be worth reading the 4K Dredd thread over at Blu-ray.com
It’s seems there isn’t a perfect version of the film. I believe the US 4K by Lionsgate has the best picture but another region has the better sound quality.
In terms of normal Blu-ray, apparently the Japanese release is best but that’s now expensive and hard to find.
Thanks for the tip though, may it make many Irish Dredd fans happy.
