The rich elite who ruined the country and are now running from the mob may not be so sympathetic, but you can root for them if you want :P
The mob is fucked anyway. There's no food, so they are all going to starve slowly on the island
Why no food ? Last year activists convinced govt to ban fertilizers. Country's harvest failed, forcing import of food, bankrupting them. Now no food, money or oil.

The most frustrating thing of all is that all of this is predictable, and is predicted, and people don't even address those possibilities and instead double down on "but it's the right thing to do!"
No, if you kill a bunch of people to 'save the planet', that isn't necessarily the right thing to do! What if you're wrong and it isn't going to save the planet? What if the planet doesn't need saving?
