Ok, apparently the flowers kind of have to be stimulated in ways that make them think bees are visiting to encourage pollen production. So from time to time I might gently tap the stems to shake them a little. You can also put a male flower in the fridge for a day or a few days to hold it until a female one opens.

I’m going to be trying to hit and run this bare patch of earth guerilla gardening style to avoid any hassles. (The dirt is mine to plant but people here are cray so I avoid being out there much.) But there’s another snag
 there’s a seriously inappropriately placed invasive tree that releases irritants and as a bonus the roots of that have grown through into my area. So not only does it cause other issues it will obstruct and take all the water and nutrients from anything I plant on my own spot.

And as a bonus, existing flowering native plants were torn out to plant that and other bad crap.

Hence why I’m trying to plant pollinator crack which still isn’t as good as what was ruined
