  They do it to me too. It’s fucking weird, but it’s all connected to the throat anyway, so it almost makes sense some of the nerves are shared.

    I’m not a doctor, but from what I’ve seen it’s all the vagus nerve, which is responsible for a whole lot and runs through most of the body… which is why there’s a lot of different responses to the inappropriate use of q-tips. Mine is more in line with the meme, lol.

      I’m not a doctor either, but from what I’ve found, you are correct about it being the vagus nerve. It’s currently being called Arnold’s nerve cough reflex. Here’s a link to a 2014 article about it: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4222929/
