Comment on Had to burn off some excess oil from my chainmail hauberk. Thought it was cool
NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 1 year agoNope, just recognize how we do frivolous stuff that contributes to climate change. So how are we possibly going to do the big stuff?

Maybe by doing the big stuff that isn’t frivolous and barely contributing anything at all compared to dumping millions of tons of carbon out every day

That would be good if the government wasn’t lying to you. It is in fact none of those things causing climate change, and it is exclusively farting by middle and high school boys. If we get rid of them the world would be a greener place #endchildren2023

We aren’t doing anything though, that’s the issue. I think you’ve misunderstood my comment. Doesn’t matter, doesn’t seem like there’s really anything to discuss here.

I agree not enough is being done and people who agree need to push harder and actually do more to enact change but still, giving people doing blacksmithing as their craft shit for not caring enough doesn’t help in any way.

also holy fuck he’s burning linseed oil with a propane torch, you definitely have done worse to the environment, daily, than this one burn-off did

I drive an electric car, and my house is powered by renewable energy. I cut-out most meat from my diet, and stopped drinking cows milk. I think I’m generally doing okay all things considered.
