Charlie Chaplin got done dirty. He was rocking that stache for decades earlier.
Some of Hitler’s bodyguards said that Hitler was a fan of Chaplin. There’s speculation (but not evidence) that he borrowed it because he liked Chaplin
I always heard that it was a common style for the working class, and Hitler was trying to ingratiate himself to them.
