I’m a huge fan of the Boox devices. They run standard android so you can do whatever you want with them. I use a Boox Note Air with OneNote, great combo as I regularly take notes on 6 different devices and they all get synced to each other.

Boox doesn’t share kernel sources for their devices, so it’s basically impossible to get Android updates when they stop supporting it.

Is it viable to flash it with a custom OS? Or does the ereader screen fundamentally need a specific OS to work?
