I had to get rid of my US Robotics (freshly rebranded from… I can’t remember?) 56k when I moved last time. Part of my soul was left with that modem.

My 56k modem was internal, so not much to look at.
But the Hayes…
You mean dubstep progenitors?
When you had some hella good shareware to download, it was always such a letdown to hear the scratchy line downshift to a lower speed trying to find a stable connection.

Maybe just as a flex, most times I tried connecting at 14400 it’d drop the call. Probably that’s why I don’t go for the greatest and latest tech purchases since then
