    Perlman said when the 2019 movie was being planned that without Del Toro, he wasn’t interested, and Del Toro isn’t interested in doing it at this point.

    The 2019 movie was a reboot rather than the third movie, even though it was originally meant to be the third.

    This new one is another reboot.

    Ron is in his mid 70s now. I don’t think he is up for all that makeup and physical work anymore
