WhatYouNeed@lemmy.world 1 year agoKnew a girl who lived on a farm, and she had a pet sheep for 7 or 8 years, since it was a lamb. It’s her 21st birthday and they put her sheep on the spit.
Couldn’t eat any of it myself. Guess farmers are bred tougher than us townies.

Yeah… I kinda think that’s an experience every omnivore should have. Raise something with your own hands, then kill and eat it. If you can’t do that, at least you now know your hypocrisy.

Barely takes over a month to raise them for slaughter. You wouldn’t get attached.
