Spock, I’m trying to make an ascent here…
Could you translate this comment into English for the non trekkies out there?
it’s a line from the opening of ST:V, the Final Frontier.
[ Spock flies up to Kirk, who is ascending the face of El Capitan, in rocket boots ]
KIRK: Spock, I’m trying to make an ascent here. Go bother Doctor McCoy!
Between how long they had known each other at that point and the situation Kirk was in, I find calling him “Doctor McCoy” very jarring.
It was the very beginning of a movie that not everyone had seen the prequel to. If it had been a TV episode, Kirk would’ve just said “bones”
