Just to clarify, if someone is targeting LW, and Mastodon is as DDoS vulnerable as Lemmy, why wouldn’t they attack mastodon.world as well?
Mastodon.world has 99,97% uptime: status.mastodon.world

Because it’s not being advertised as LW’s alternative communication channel, hence they likely don’t see the need to target it.
