Comment on Anon gets calls from scammers
JakJak98@lemmy.world 5 months agoWhile yes it is absolutely racist, scammers are not capable of having an identity associated with someone who is on par with humanity. They’re far below animals.
I prefer the term “demihuman” or any other dehumanizing language so they know who they are.
Minus the human trafficked ones of course. Only the vast majority who do it willingly.

I’m a bit lost. I didn’t justify using racist terms. I’m saying that scammers lack the core traits of humanity, compassion and care in others.
And they don’t deserve anything, let alone feeling comfortable in a conversation, or the air they breathe.
That is regardless of race, sex, gender. If you scam someone else, you don’t deserve life.

I get scammed every day on a near daily basis. I get scammed when my landlord raises my rent without fair cause. I get scammed when I look at inflated sale prices at my local grocery store for already shrinkflated goods. I get scammed when I get fees and tips tacked on to my bill when I go to the movie theater or a restaurant. It’s fucking infuriating but I don’t wish death upon my waitress, the store owner, or even my landlord. It’s all just unregulated capitalism in action. Scams, big or small, make money, and money moves us forward.
Just because some degenerate across the world with a funny accent who I will likely never interact with plays by the same rules doesn’t mean he should be thrown into a wood chipper. IMO.

Dehumanization isnt just racism lol. Its any kind of denial of humanity to anyone. And i really dont care for it.

Plain old insults have now graduated to dehumanizing? Move the goalposts much?
Belastend@lemmy.world 5 months ago
have you read their comment? they literally said that scammers are “less than animals”. JFC
JakJak98@lemmy.world 5 months ago
They are? Being human relies on community and compassion for others. If you scam someone else, you deserve nothing but the dirt you walk on, let alone the clothes on your back. Regardless of gender, race, sex, etc.

Using racial slurs isn’t only damaging and insulting to the person being directly talked to or about. I suggest adopting a blanket position against racial slurs in any context.
porous_grey_matter@lemmy.ml 5 months ago
But what about <incredibly contrived specific example involving song lyrics, guns to heads etc.>, can I say it then?
JakJak98@lemmy.world 5 months ago
I didnt say using racial slurs is correct. I said the act of scamming someone is so far removed from the identity of what it means to be human.
I never defended the terminology used in the post. Nor would I use that. Its shallow, and means far less than telling them they aren’t someone capable of receiving any care.
porous_grey_matter@lemmy.ml 5 months ago
Scamming is core to what it is to be human, other animals don’t scam, and when they do insofar add they do we say they are like us
Mango@lemmy.world 5 months ago
If you can’t be made fun of, you’re the bad guy.
Belastend@lemmy.world 5 months ago
there is a huge gap between “making fun of” and “racist bullshit”.
Mango@lemmy.world 5 months ago
Not really. It’s racism when he goes around putting them down without context that makes sense or discriminates with employment stuff and whatnot.
