Comment on Is it just me or do Lemmy communities tend to skew left wing? Why might this be?
aleph@lemm.ee 5 months agoThat’s true, but it still doesn’t change the fact that the FOSS ethos runs in direct conflict with the ideals of capitalism and private ownership, and libertarians are nothing if not fans of those things.

Being able to do what you want is a part of private ownership. Some people just like making their code available to everyone.
